What is COVID-19 Antibody Testing?
It is a screening test for patients who do not feel sick and do not have COVID-19 symptoms. It is a Serological Antibody test that indicates if your body has produced Antibodies as a response to COVID-19 exposure.
How and where is the sample collected?
The test uses a routine venipuncture sample (blood drawn from your arm) not blood from a fingerstick or any nasal/throat swab. It can be collected at any IML Patient Service Center or your physician's office.
What about the technical details?
Specimens are tested using the Roche Diagnostics, Elecsys Anti-SARS-CoV-2 reagents authorized for use in laboratories like ours by the FDA Emergency Use Authorization (EUA).
