IML is accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP). The CAP Laboratory Accreditation Program is recognized by the federal government as equal to or more stringent than the government’s own inspection program. It is considered the gold standard of quality in the laboratory industry. During the CAP accreditation process, inspectors examine laboratory records and quality control procedures, as well as staff qualifications, laboratory equipment, facilities, safety and management procedures.
